Gloves
Protect your hands with gloves when appropriate.
Not all gloves protect against all hazards!
- Gloves qualifying for the standard EN374 protect against most chemicals and microorganisms.
- Gloves fulfilling EN455 specified for medical single-use applications do not protect from ethidium bromide for example.
Avoid a gap between gloves and lab coat:
Do not touch doors, machinery, telephones etc. with gloved hands.
If necessary, wear just one glove to touch potentially hazardous materials and surfaces, and use the ungloved hand to open refrigerators and press buttons etc.
